Before the Camino: preparing your body in Le Puy-en-Velay

Every year, more than twenty thousand people set out from Le Puy-en-Velay for Santiago de Compostela. They sleep here the night before. They are a little afraid. And tomorrow, they will walk.

The night before

There is a moment no one talks about: the eve of departure. You have packed your bag ten times. You have read the guides. And still, lying in an unfamiliar room in Le Puy-en-Velay, you do not know what your body will say.

At Le Spa Le Mont Anis, a few minutes from the cathedral, we welcome these walkers. Before departure, to prepare the legs, the back, the shoulders that will carry. And on the way back, for a body that has walked.

A massage designed for walking

No protocol is prepared in advance. Every massage begins with a conversation: how you feel today, what you fear, what your body already knows. Then the legs, the back, the neck.

From 75 minutes, the experience ends with a Himalayan salt foot bath. For those leaving, it is preparation. For those returning, it is repair.

The Crossing of Mont Anis

Our signature treatment draws directly on the Camino itself. It is performed with four hands — two therapists, a single movement — with warm basalt stones, the very rock the city is built upon.

The Crossing of Mont Anis was awarded 4th place at the French National Signature Treatment Awards, Paris, 2026.
